Good/Great/Wonderful/Incredible
[Good - Good for you.真替你高興.]
Good 的用法跟 cool 很像, 同樣都是用來認同或是肯定別人的行為或表現.
例如:
小孩子跟媽媽說，" I've done my homework." 媽媽這時候就可以跟小孩子說,，"Good. Now you can go and play." (很好, 現在你可以出去玩了. ) 或是人家說,，" I got an A in that course." (我在那門課裏拿了一個 A.) 你就可以表揚她說 "That's good."
另外有時候我們跟好朋友之間還可以用, "Good for you." 或是 "Good to hear." 來替對方加加油, 打打氣. 例如好友對你說, "I'm getting married this month." 你就可以說, "Good for you." 或是 "Good to hear."
Good 在朋友間相互噓寒問暖時也很好用。
例如:
當你走在路上遇到了朋友, 他對你打招呼, "Hi! How're you doing?", 如果你不希望在打完招呼後再聊上兩句的話. 我們通常就回答, "Good." 或是 "I'm good." 這樣子別人就不會繼續追問下去發生了什麼事. 當然啦, 如果是你希望別人關心你兩句的話, 你就回答, "Bad." 或是 "Not very good." 這樣子別人就會關心你一下的.

不過要注意, 當老美說 "That's great!" 時有時候是在說反話喔! 例如正在室外打網球打得正高興時, 突然傾盆大雨, 這時你也可以說, "That's great!". 或是本來和同學講好明天要蹺課出去玩, 結果教授突然宣佈說明天要考試, 受不了這麼大打擊的你也可以說, "That's great!" (真是棒啊!) 我想中文裏我們也有很類似的用法, 所以大家應該不會太訝異老美也常愛說反話吧?

Hundred- year Egg Also called century egg, thousand-year egg and Ming Dynasty egg, all of which are eggs that have been preserved by being covered with a coating of lime, ashes and salt before being shallowly buried for 100 days. The lime「petrifies」 the egg, making it look like it's been buried for at least a century.

這句成語太出名了, 似乎沒有人不知道.天底下沒有那麼好的事情可以不勞而獲. 總之, 當我們聽到一件事情好到不可思議時, 例如一元手機, 免費上網, 我們就可以對別人說, There is no such a thing as free lunch.

這句成語太出名了, 似乎沒有人不知道.天底下沒有那麼好的事情可以不勞而獲. 總之, 當我們聽到一件事情好到不可思議時, 例如一元手機, 免費上網, 我們就可以對別人說, There is no such a thing as free lunch.

Speak of the devil.
說曹操曹操就到.
有些中文的成語用直接用英文翻出來老美還可以接受, 但是 "說曹操, 曹操就到" 這句話要翻可就沒有那麼容易了. 而何況你還要先解釋曹操是誰, 那難度又更高了. 以前我不會 Speak of the devil 時, 我都是說, That's a coincidence. (那真是一個巧合.) 但是大家現在學會了這句之後, 又更加好用了.
下次當你們談到某人, 某人就正好出現時, 你就可以說 Speak of the devil. 或是 Talk of the devil.
